America has always done the right thing when it comes to bringing home our wounded or Pow men and women from battle fields the world over. This instance of the POW Bowe Bergdhal is no different. No price has ever been to high for us to rescue our own.
This soldier has the right to come home, to face the music here in the United States. We should also know that we really don't know as yet what it is the music will play. We shouldn't be so quick to judge, and who is it we are really judging? this soldier or president Obama ?
It seems just a few months ago republican senators, John Mcain included, were wondering why the President wasn't doing more to get Bergdhal home, now they are calling for what? the soldiers head and the impeachment of president Obama.
Hosts on FOX news are berating Mr. and Mrs. Bergdhal. Mr Bergdhal because he has a beard is being vilified, and only God knows what is being said about the Mrs. The right is showing how immature they are by laughing at the way someone looks. Isn't that what a bully would do?
I am extremely anxious about the way this American is being treated and instead of feeling safe on stepping off American soil I feel as though if there should somehow, something happen to myself in another country and I had the misfortune of being taken as hostage, or POW, would I first be judged, my children looked at to make sure they are okay with everyone else here and then maybe to be considered someone worthy of being brought back... to be rescued ?
And so now does it come down to who is worthy of a safe and speedy return, or any return at all? and if that is so what will make one American more worthy than another?
Hostage or POW if we are American we want to come home, judged by our peers at home, not vilified and laughed at by Fox, (you should excuse me please) circus news.
